9/14 INSERVICE
"The question isn't who is going to let me, it's who is going to stop me."
-Ayn Rand
Renee led the September 14 inservice about questioning strategies for our work with students. The main event involved the acting out of Gary Shoup's book Suma The Elephant.
The Story
Suma is an elephant kidnapped as a baby by monkeys and convinced by them that she's only a pet. Suma's dream is to be free like other elephants who befriend her while she's tied to a tree.
Questions
TS staff deliberated questions for posing to Suma depending on which character a card illustrated. The aim of questions: help Suma achieve her goal to be free. From this conversation, we applied the story of Suma to our work with LCC students.
